Assalam o Alaikum! 🤎 Welcome back to Angan_Tales! In today’s cozy midweek vlog, I’m making homemade desi ghee from yogurt-set cream using a traditional method, preparing fresh homemade butter, cooking delicious Methi Matar Aloo for the beginning of winter, cleaning and reusing empty sauce bottles as beautiful planters, and giving my kitchen a little organisation. If you love simple home routines, traditional homemade recipes, seasonal Pakistani cooking, and creative kitchen organisation, I hope you enjoy spending this day with me! ✨ Homemade Desi Ghee from Yogurt-Set Cream — The Method Ingredients: 2 kg cream (malai) 1 cup yogurt (dahi) Ice cubes Cold water, as needed Method: 1. Add 1 cup of yogurt to 2 kg of cream and mix well. 2. Leave the mixture overnight to develop a slightly tangy taste. 3. Add ice cubes and beat the mixture until the butterfat begins to separate from the liquid. 4. Chill the mixture briefly if needed to help the butter come together. 5. Gather the butter and gently squeeze out the remaining liquid. 6. Rinse the butter with cold water, if needed, and shape it into balls. At this stage, you have homemade unsalted butter. 7. To make desi ghee, place the butter in a pan over a low flame and let it melt slowly until the moisture evaporates and the ghee is ready. Allow it to cool slightly before straining and storing it in a clean, dry jar. A little kitchen note: The amount of ghee you get depends on the fat content of your cream. The leftover liquid can be used in suitable recipes if it has been handled and stored safely. 🍃 What’s happening in today’s vlog? • Making homemade desi ghee from yogurt-set cream • Turning fresh cream into homemade unsalted butter • Preparing Methi Matar Aloo — a comforting winter dish • Cleaning empty sauce bottles with hot water, dishwashing soap, and baking soda • Removing stubborn stickers from bottles • Reusing empty bottles as decorative planters with plant cuttings • Cleaning and organising my kitchen • Enjoying simple homemade food and everyday moments at home As winter begins, I love cooking with seasonal vegetables like methi and palak. There’s something so comforting about homemade food and finding simple ways to reuse things around the kitchen. 💬 Let’s chat in the comments! How do you make desi ghee at home? Do you use the traditional cream-and-yogurt method, or do you have another easy method? Also, tell me which winter vegetables you love the most and what you cooked in your kitchen today!
