Then Achichi Mela debuted and listed exactly one favorite game: GeoGuessr. In their first collab, the newest member turns out to be a "No Move" player and a utility pole sommelier, who learned all 47 prefectures in one year (after the internet once identified the mountain she lives on). AZKi can't contain herself: an anime about their club, a trip to see utility poles, an offline collab, a conversation so passionate it crashed YouTube twice… and a spreadsheet of 100 questions, sorted into eight chapters. Spotted a translation mistake? Tell us in the comments! TL notes (Japanese words, jokes and context, explained for English speakers) ・GeoGuessr: you're dropped somewhere on Google Street View and guess where you are. A "5K" is a perfect round; a "zero-guess" lands exactly on the spot. AZKi's greeting: "A mic in my right hand, a map in my left, and I'll zero-guess your heart!" ・No Move: a GeoGuessr mode where you can't walk, only look around and zoom. Players read utility poles, manholes and plants, since each region's poles look different. ・特定 (tokutei): online sleuths pinning down where someone lives from what they post. ・Mela: a 400-year-old firefighting salamander from the mountains who talks old-fashioned, ending lines with "noja" (のじゃ). Her goodbye is "Saraba-ja!" (farewell). ・Chugoku Electric and TEPCO: the power companies of western Japan and of Tokyo. GeoGuessr players tell regions apart by their poles' parts. ・国道トレカ: trading cards of Japan's national routes. ・知恵熱 (chie-netsu): a "brain fever" from thinking too hard. ・電柱 (denchū): utility pole.
