Minni Minni presents 'Perspectives', a series that seeks to explore Carnatic compositions from various different points of view. This first season celebrates the great composer Tyagaraja. In this sixth episode we are back with Bharatanatyam dancer Reshika Sivakumar, presenting Nadasudha Rasam in Raga Arabhi. The music has been rendered by Bhuvanashree Govindasamy and Aduthurai Guruprasadh. About the artists: Reshika is a refreshing wave of blunt honesty with a streak of humorous sarcasm. She is an alumna of ‪@Project.Samskriti‬, an education system envisioned by ‪@sadhguru‬. Upon finishing school, she trained under Karuna Sagari for a certain period, and is now a disciple of ‪@ramavaidyanathan‬. The only thing that Reshika loves as much as dancing would be her cats. Bhuvanashree Govindasamy is a quiet and soft spoken vocalist, but interfere with her peace and quiet, and you will see a very different avatar of hers. She is an alumnus of ‪@Project.Samskriti‬, an alternate education system envisioned by ‪@sadhguru‬. She is training in Carnatic music under Jayashree Aravind and TM Krishna. She loves working with children (and also cats and dogs), enjoys baking and is at her best when there are ghazals playing softly in the background. He also happens to be a walking encyclopedia, with all relavant information on the latest cars and mobile phones. He loves to delve into politics, and will end up getting a new kurta stitched for himself every other day if he sets his eyes on any interesting cloth material. Tyagaraja kritis, also known as Thyagaraja songs are very commonly sung in concerts. Although Tyagaraja has composed on various deities, Tyagaraja songs on rama, or Thyagaraja songs on rama are most common as Rama was Thyagaraja's Ishta devata. There are easy Tyagaraja kritis on Rama, simple Tyagaraja kritis, as well as rare Tyagaraja kritis. He has also composed the magnificent Tyagaraja pancharatnas, also called Tyagaraja pancharatna kritis.
