Angele Dei | Guardian Angel Prayer Chant for Anxiety, Peace & Protection

Angel of God, My Guardian Dear — Gregorian Chant for Sleep & Protection Through the Night. Three full hours of Latin chant to the Guardian Angel, for rest under his watch. The Church has always taught that no soul walks alone. From the earliest centuries the night office of Compline has ended with the same plea: that God would guard His people while they sleep. These Latin chants carry the Angele Dei and the hymn Te Lucis Ante Terminum over voice and harp, without interruption. Let it play through the whole night. "The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them." — Psalm 34:7 (KJV) "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety." — Psalm 4:8 (KJV) LATIN TEXT Angele Dei, qui custos es mei, me, tibi commissum pietate superna, illumina, custodi, rege et guberna. Amen. (Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this night be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.) Te lucis ante terminum, rerum Creator, poscimus, ut pro tua clementia sis praesul et custodia. (Before the ending of the day, Creator of the world, we pray that with Thy wonted favor Thou wouldst be our guard and keeper now.) Salva nos, Domine, vigilantes, custodi nos dormientes: ut vigilemus cum Christo, et requiescamus in pace. (Save us, O Lord, while waking, and guard us while sleeping: that we may watch with Christ, and rest in peace.)
