Anna Zavorina String Quartet - Fathers (Full Album)

Siberian-born Anna Zavorina has been a classical violinist since the age of six. After training in the rigorous Russian musical tradition, she found her sanctuary at the Amsterdam Conservatory — completing the natural evolution of any healthy string quartet player by switching to the double bass. She is a bassline junkie with a Master degree. On her debut album, Anna does far more than just play every single part herself (barring a few credited exceptions) or reflect on the figure of a "musical father". Backed by a PhD thesis on Stravinsky, she goes a step further, inviting us into a world of the unwritten — yet long discovered and analyzed a thousand times over. It is, at its core, a hauntological masterpiece. Leaving behind the highbrow academic coldness of contemporary quartets, Anna remains intensely passionate about the raw sound itself. She leaves room for humor, never letting the music devolve into mere "exercises in style." Here, portraits of composers past and present become a mirror for a single individual, left alone with her ideas and musical memory. released August 1, 2026 All tracks composed and performed by Anna Zavorina with invaluable help of - Teddy Sicking — violin I (Taiga, Diego) Linda Lukas — violin II (Taiga, Diego) Ida Weidner — viola (Taiga, Diego) Recorded by Nol Sicking (Taiga, Diego) Mixed by Alessandro Mazzieri Artwork by Marina Leonteva (@hvobus) 0:00 Taiga 02:06 Diego 05:44 Penta Fuga 08:46 Astor 12:54 Aram 17:16 Body and Soul Listen & Support https://linktr.ee/anna_zavorina
