Bizarre Vintage Dover/Shannon Traction Elevators at 70 Washington St, Salem MA

(8.5.2026) These things are so strange. They were installed by a local brand I have never heard of and have a menagerie of different fixtures and equipment including GAL, Serge, and Adams. The indicators are Dover clones made by Adams. They inexplicably have two different door types, and one is AC with a VFD drive while the other is DC with a generator! The DC car runs very odd and sometimes makes you feel like you've gotten stuck when it's actually leveling at a snails pace so that you can not feel it moving, though looking back on it now though some of the "issues" I thought it had were actually in part due to user error and confusingly oriented key switches which made me believe 5 was unlocked and 4 was not...
