Starting at the Keage Incline, the old railway track now lined with cherry trees leads quietly into the hills. From there, Nanzenji Temple opens up with its massive wooden gate and the iconic brick aqueduct hidden among the trees. The final stretch follows the Philosopher's Path, a stone walkway along a canal where the pace of Kyoto slows down to something almost forgotten.
