The deeper you travel into space, the more the universe strips away every system keeping you alive. Earth's atmosphere, magnetic field, sunlight, communication, rescue capability, and even the solar wind vanish one by one as you push outward from the surface. This isn't a single danger waiting in the void. It's a series of invisible thresholds, each one removing another layer of protection that life on Earth evolved to depend on. From the International Space Station, where Earth's magnetosphere still shields astronauts from the worst cosmic radiation, to the Moon, where Apollo crews saw flashes of light caused by particles punching through their skulls. From Mars, where communication delays make real-time rescue impossible, to Jupiter, where sunlight fades to less than four percent and solar power becomes nearly useless. From the outer solar system, where the Sun shrinks to a bright star that no longer warms anything, to the heliopause, where Voyager 1 crossed into interstellar space and the solar wind disappeared entirely.
