You may not need a new battery!

You may not need a new battery. Your problem may be your charging system. A brand-new car battery can start the engine, turn on the lights, run the radio, and power the air conditioning. But if the alternator isn’t working, even a new battery will eventually run down. Our spiritual life can be similar. New life in Christ starts the journey, but God never intended us to live on yesterday’s spiritual charge. “Be filled with the Spirit.”— Ephesians 5:18 Just as the alternator continually supplies power for the journey, the Holy Spirit continually strengthens, renews, and empowers us for our journey. Maybe the answer isn’t starting over. Maybe we need a fresh filling. I know I do—every day. No condemnation. No shame. Just an invitation from God: “Be filled with the Spirit.” New life in Christ starts the journey. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to go the distance.
