March on Gordon's Farm, and two big changes land in the same month. First, the offshore fish farm. The old two-pod setup was run down as low as possible and then sold off. In its place goes a new offshore farm with eight pods — four times the production capacity of the original. The old trout lake is gone too, no longer needed with the offshore facility taking over. Everything is set to distributing, and the fish operation is now running perfectly at a much larger scale. Then comes the fertiliser revolution. A Bunning manure spreader is bought for around £135,000, and for the first time, the farm fertilises its own fields with its own manure. The sunflower field gets a full pass, and the headlands of the oat field get done too. This is a big moment — it cuts fertiliser costs, closes the loop on the farm's waste, and means the cows are now feeding the crops as well as the dairy. The sunflower and oat fields were also seeded and rolled this month. Everything is ticking along, and the farm is ready for the rest of the year — and for Season Six.
