Invention No. 15 in B minor, BWV 786

The two-part series concludes with a study on the neighbor tone. The subject begins with a lower neighbor tone that is immediately inverted and augmented. Simultaneously, we hear in the left hand accompaniment a doubly augmented inversion of the main motif. When the countermelody enters in b.3 it is also comprised of lower and upper neighbor tones.
