Are the people closest to you keeping you from God’s best? As a disciple of Christ, your family can actually become your biggest hindrance to receiving covenant blessings. They often struggle to let you forget your old self and selflessly give your life for others. In other words, the pressures of the world, social commitments, family traditions, and even those who are supposed to support you can become the very obstacles that stop you from entering into a real, deep covenant with God. Look at Scripture: Abraham had to separate from Lot before God could speak to him about one of the greatest covenant blessings in history—a blessing that you and I as Christians can claim today, and many still claim in prayer. Therefore, identify those who are stopping you from getting serious with Christ.
