About the Canyon Special We are proud to officially launch the Scott Fly Rod Canyon Special, a collaboration built exclusively for Ed's Fly Shop. The Canyon Special is a unique take on the classic 9'0" 5wt platform. By adding a custom fighting butt, we've created a rod that maintains the legendary Scott feel and precision while giving you the extra leverage and durability needed for big fish and technical water. In This Video We're taking you behind the curtain at the Scott workshop. Not only do you get to see the artisanal manufacturing process, but we also sit down for an exclusive interview with Jim andTheresa, the visionary designers at Scott Fly Rods. They walk us through: • The inspiration behind the Canyon Special. • Why the 9'0" 5wt with a fighting butt is the ultimate "utility player" for your quiver. • The technical challenges of balancing industrial strength with handcrafted artistry. Rod Specifications: • Model: Scott Canyon Special (Ed's Fly Shop Exclusive) • Length: 9'0" • Line Weight: 5wt • Feature: Custom Fighting Butt • Build: Hand-rolled, hand-lettered, and hand-finished in the USA.
