Exploring Zermatt: A Scenic Walk at the Foot of the Matterhorn | June 2025

#switzerland #zermatt #matterhorn #alps #walkingvideo #strollingaround After a short shuttle ride from Täsch, we arrived in Zermatt (elevation 1,608 m) with just enough time for a brief walk and introduction to this charming alpine village at the foot of the Matterhorn. A tourist hotspot and a paradise for skiers, Zermatt boasts unique architecture that is well-suited to the alpine climate and way of life. We strolled down the main street, lined with shops and restaurants, and eventually reached the parish church of St. Mauritius. One interesting detail is the painted ceiling depicting scenes from Noah’s Ark.. From there, we passed the cemetery dedicated to mountaineers who tragically lost their lives. We continued to the base station of the tunnel funicular, which would take us up to Sunnegga, situated at 2,293 meters above sea level.
