Partly Cloudy Calm sunrise on Watts Bar Lake. Sunrise at 7:54 AM. 46° at first light, climbing to 53°. Calm. 12 bird species heard, including Carolina Chickadee, Blue Jay, and Carolina Wren.
3-hour real-time recording, 7:04 AM to 10:04 AM. Natural sound only, no music added. Lake ambient, birdsong, boat traffic, and the slow shift of light across the water.
Bird species identified by Cornell Lab's BirdNET acoustic classifier (https://birdnet.cornell.edu). Each species chapter is the timestamp where that bird's call is most prominent in the recording. Acoustic ID is not perfect, but BirdNET is reliable for our region's common species. Bird nerds: corrections welcome in the comments.
