Some key differences include: Shia Muslims often combine the five daily prayers into three sessions, while Sunnis pray five times a day separately. Shia Muslims place their hands at their sides during prayer, whereas Sunnis typically place their hands on their navels or chests. Shia Muslims often use a Turbah (a small stone or tablet) on the ground for prostration, while Sunnis usually prostrate directly on the ground or a prayer mat. Shia Muslims recite the "Ameen" softly or not at all after Surah Al-Fatihah, whereas Sunnis often recite it loudly. Shia Muslims may include additional phrases in their Adhan (call to prayer), such as "Ash-hadu anna Ali yun Waliullah" (I bear witness that Ali is the vicegerent of Allah).
