Exploring Bari Vecchia in Puglia Italy 🇮🇹

The last stops of the summer "workation" are in beautiful Italy 🇮🇹 Today I will show you ✨ Bari ✨ It is the capital city of Puglia, a region along the Adriatic Sea, in the south east of Italy. If you happen to visit, here is something you cannot miss: 🔹Strada delle orecchiette: alleys where women make homemade pasta, including “orecchiette”, which is the typical pasta of Puglia. You can buy it dry, which makes a great souvenir; 🔹Bari vecchia: this is where you can find the above one too. It’s a magical experience to walk around the alleys of the old Bari. You will stumble upon churches, typical buildings, bars, restaurant and souvenir shops and locals speaking “pugliese” (dialect); 🔹 Normanno-Svevo castle: This medieval fortification dates back to 1132. On the first Sunday of the month museums and other attractions such as the castle are free of charge too! 🔹Churches: do have a look at churches and cathedral as they are stunning inside! You can find frescos, painting and delightful decorations. Some examples are Bari Cathedral, San Nicola Cathedral and Sant’Anna Church; 🔹Stroll along the Adriatic Sea 🌊 Going south you can find a public beach 🏖️ called “Pane e Pomodoro” (bread 🍞and tomato 🍅). It was very crowded when I went but keep in mind August is the busiest month! Otherwise enjoy a stroll with an ice cream and the view in front of you. Bari is a beautiful city and it’s very easy to walk around. You can enjoy the beach, the old town, the shopping area and easily get to other destinations by train 🚊 Would you like to visit Bari?
