September 21st, 2021. Here’s Mount Williamson’s (14,380’) infamous “chimney”, the crux of the climb. A classic Sierra approach to the second highest peak in California. Some argue it’s class 4 due or even low 5 due to its vertical grade, but pictures make it look much worse than it actually is. The chimney is very easy climbing with little to no exposure and I felt safe the entire time. Left base camp at Shepherd’s pass at 4:30am, and eventually summited Mt. Williamson at 9:30am.
