In The City

A Dedication from JJ. Hawk Band This song is dedicated to Matt Wurtsmith. We may not fully understand the weight you’re carrying or the battles taking place inside you but we want you to know something important: You matter. You are cared about. And you do not have to face every moment alone. Sometimes music can reach places that words simply cannot. Our hope is that this song brings you even a small measure of comfort, strength, and the reminder that there are people who genuinely care about you. From all of us in the JJ. Hawk Band, we’re thinking of you, standing with you, and hoping for brighter and more peaceful days ahead. This one is for you. — JJ. Hawk Band Theme: The city represents being surrounded by everything while missing one person. The narrator walks through crowds, lights, traffic, bars, apartments and familiar streets. Millions of lives are happening around him, yet memories of one relationship dominate everything he sees. At first, the city is almost a maze. Every street brings him back emotionally to the person he's lost.
