Watch an incredible one-year journey of transforming an abandoned agricultural silo into a breathtaking modern living space. The massive restoration begins with clearing out decades of overgrowth and pouring a sturdy concrete foundation to protect the fragile ancient masonry. From there, the project scales up with intricate traditional timber framing. Massive structural-grade wooden beams are milled and joined using precise mortise and tenon cuts to create a striking octagonal roof hub. The painstaking craftsmanship continues with an attached porch extension, double-paned glass installations for thermal efficiency, and heavy wooden blocks stabilized with dark butterfly joints to form a towering central spiral staircase. Overcoming immense challenges, like rotary-hammering through solid stone walls for modern utilities, required raw force and absolute dedication.
