Diplomatic Visits Delivering Results for Seychelles Since assuming office as the sixth President of the Republic of Seychelles in October 2025, President Dr Patrick Herminie has placed international diplomacy firmly within his Government's development agenda. For a Small Island Developing State such as Seychelles, foreign relations are not simply about protocol, ceremonies and handshakes. They can mean investment. They can mean new homes. Better healthcare. Water and energy security. Transport and infrastructure. Training and education. Maritime security. And stronger protection of Seychelles' economic interests. Over the first months of his presidency, President Herminie embarked on a series of international missions aimed at strengthening old friendships, building new partnerships and, importantly, bringing tangible benefits back home.
