Thabo Bester: prisoner's rights explained

The Correctional Services Department has hit back at the convicted rapist and murderer #ThaboBester's claims of experiencing inhumane conditions at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional facility. The department says the treatment he's receiving is consistent with what's prescribed by the Correctional Service Act for a maximum-classified inmate. Bester claims he's placed in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day and has no access to resources to prepare for his trial. Legal analyst Melusi Xulu unpacks prisoners' rights.
