The BEST Concorde in 1:400 Scale? | British Airways Concorde by ARD400 Review

Concorde needs absolutely no introduction. It’s arguably the most iconic passenger aircraft ever built, and more than 20 years after its final flight, it’s still incredible to see one in person. In this video, we’re taking a detailed look at the British Airways Concorde G-BOAD in the iconic Chatham Dockyard livery, reproduced in 1:400 scale by ARD400. This particular Concorde is displayed at the Intrepid Museum in New York, where I’ve had the chance to see it several times — and even go inside it during my visit last year. That makes this model especially meaningful to me, as my girlfriend later gave me this exact aircraft as a birthday present. But how good is the ARD400 Concorde? Is it the best 1:400 scale Concorde we’ve ever had? We’ll be looking at the model in four categories: the box, mould, landing gear, and printing & overall quality. The ARD400 Concorde uses the well-known Socatec Concorde mould, with several improvements made by ARD400. With new 1:400 scale Concordes being relatively rare, this is currently one of the newest options available. Of course, we’ll also compare it with other 1:400 Concordes, including the Gemini Jets Concorde, while looking at how this model compares to the standards set by modern manufacturers such as NG Models and JC Wings. And there’s plenty to discuss. The ARD400 has a much more accurate nose, additional moulded details and even an antenna — but the noticeable wing seam, basic landing gear and relatively simple printing prevent it from feeling like a truly modern 1:400 model.
