Discovering the secrets of the DR's most beautiful coast

One of the most beautiful corners of the Dominican Republic, and one of the least talked about. In this video, I spend time exploring the town of Samaná, stay in the lush, off-the-beaten-path community of El Valle, and take a boat out to two of the region's most stunning natural landmarks: Los Haitises National Park and Cayo Levantado (also known as Bacardi Island). Los Haitises is unlike anything I've seen, mangrove forests, limestone mogotes rising out of the water, pre-Columbian cave paintings, and an ecosystem that feels completely untouched. Cayo Levantado is a small island just offshore, with white sand beaches and turquoise water that lives up to every photo you've ever seen of it.
