Concrete & Culture: Inside Brooklyn's 5th Annual Walls Festival

The Bed-Stuy Walls Mural Festival & Block Party is an annual open-air celebration of community, hip-hop culture, and live graffiti art in Brooklyn. A continuous 300-foot-long stretch of warehouse exterior wall serves as a permanent canvas for the community. This year celebrated its 5th Annual edition, with a distinct twist: the 2026 festival featured an all-female artist lineup. Honoring women in street art, this year's block party saw prominent female muralists and street artists painting live simultaneously throughout the day to refresh the block's visual history. The project started when organizers noticed the massive, neglected warehouse wall and realized it could be transformed from an regular graffiti spot into a highly curated, vibrant open-air community gallery. Events like this block party help protect and "save the walls" for local artistic expression, fighting neighborhood displacement and ensuring true Brooklyn street culture stays rooted in the community. The event and mural project are organized and curated by local community figures and artists @miki__mu and @artface7. #Brooklyn #StreetArt #Art #Murals #Graffiti #NewYork #NYC Subscribe:    / @explorewalkingtours   Instagram:   / explorewalkingtours   TikTok:   / explorewalkingtours   Contact: explorewalkingtours@gmail.com 🏆 Donate here: https://ko-fi.com/explorewalkingtours
