Why Mad Men Is The Greatest TV Show Of All Time

What actually makes a television show the greatest of all time? For years, shows like Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, and The Wire have dominated the conversation. Bigger moments. Bigger twists. Bigger spectacle. But Mad Men never played that game. Created by Matthew Weiner, Mad Men approached television differently — built on restraint, silence, character psychology, and observation rather than shock value. Across seven seasons, it became one of the most critically acclaimed dramas ever made, while somehow still feeling overlooked in conversations about the greatest TV show of all time.
