This week there’s plenty happening on O’Neill Dairy Farm as the digger is back on site and we continue improving drainage around the yard. After all the work carried out around the farm over the past year, we’re now digging in more drains and fitting new pipework to help get water away properly before the wetter winter months arrive. We also take a trip to the National Ploughing Championships, attend the Bank of Ireland Ploughing Gala, and leave the kids in charge of the farming while we’re away. Back home, Joe checks how the grass is performing, gets grazing set up and measures one paddock that has grown strongly enough to leave us with another decision — do we graze it or bale it?
