ALSO, BECAUSE I GET ASKED AT LEAST ONCE ON EVERY VIDEO - "WHY/HOW ARE YOU VERIFIED? YOU HAVE LIKE A FEW HUNDRED SUBS!"
Back in 2011, I was one of the first to register for Google+ (yeah, remember that thing?) and at one point Google had a "verification" option to prove I was a real human and one day a "verified" check appeared next to my name. Then, Google decided to link everything to Google+, including YouTube. My account was of course linked and that carried my verification over. Fast forward several years and the meaning of verified went from "I am an actual human with this name" to "I am an elite status symbol". Well, because I was verified before Google changed the rules, I was allowed to keep my verification. I do not agree with reserving verification status to only the few who meet the criteria. Anyone (person or business) should be allowed to be verified so that others know they are who they say they are.
