🥀 RED | Warden Queen 🩸
A Gothic Dark Fairytale Adaptation of “I See Red”
Once, there was a queen.
Then came the betrayal.
And every fairytale has its breaking point.
“Red” is a haunting, gothic reinterpretation of “I See Red” by Everybody Loves an Outlaw, reimagined through the dark-fairytale storytelling of Warden Queen.
Where love once promised devotion, betrayal now demands vengeance. Innocence withers beneath a crimson crown, and the woman who once believed in happily ever after becomes something far more dangerous.
This adaptation embraces the darker side of fairytales, weaving together feminine rage, heartbreak, vengeance, and the transformation of a betrayed woman into a queen who refuses to remain a victim.
Because not every princess waits to be rescued.
Some become the reason kingdoms fall.
🩸 Welcome to the darker side of happily ever after.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Did you really think I’d bow
While you gave him what was mine?
I was born beneath this crown,
Royal blood and ancient line.
You, you dressed him up in gold,
Called a stranger heaven-sent,
While the daughter of the throne
Was erased by parliament.
[Chorus]
I see red,
red,
oh red,
Every banner overhead.
You can crown him in my place,
You can carve out my name—
But the blood within these walls
Still remembers whence it came.
All I see is red,
red,
red,
And the crown upon his head.
[Verse 2]
Did you really think that blood
Could be silenced by decree?
That a council full of wolves
Could decide who I should be?
You built his throne upon my bones,
Made my birthright his reward,
But a kingdom stolen once
Can be taken by the sword.
You, you called me cursed and cruel,
When I would not bend the knee.
Funny how a woman’s wicked
When she dares to claim sovereignty.
[Chorus]
I see red,
red,
oh red,
Every banner overhead.
Let him sit upon my throne,
Let him wear my father’s crest—
Every jewel around his crown
Was torn screaming from my chest.
All I see is red,
red,
red,
And the crown upon his head.
[Bridge]
Run.
Hide.
Bar the gates tonight.
Tell your precious king
His queen has come to fight.
Pray hard.
Ring every warning bell.
You made me into wicked—
I learned wicked very well.
[Final Chorus]
I see red,
red,
oh red,
Now the roses bloom like bloodshed.
No more whispers in the halls,
No more chains beneath my dress.
You denied the rightful queen—
Now you’ll kneel to nothing less.
I see red,
red,
oh red,
Watch the kingdom bow its head.
You can call me witch or traitor,
You can curse the path I tread—
But the crown was always mine.
And now all I see is red.

Warden Queen creates gothic, cinematic music inspired by dark fantasy, tragic romance, forgotten women, and the beautiful horrors lurking beneath familiar fairytales.
Here, princesses do not always find salvation, queens are not always merciful, and happily ever after is rarely written in gold.
