Continuous Flow Through (CFT) reactors are an elegant solution to separating worms from their castings at harvest time. Usually a CFT is a complicated and expensive proposition for the home vermicomposter. The VermBin brings the CFT to the home wormery with this inexpensive DIY flow-through bin in three sizes: 4 square feet, 8 square feet, and today's build of SIXTEEN square feet of vermicomposting production!
All three are built the same. Join me as I build my newest VermBin! The plans are available very inexpensively from Bentley "Compost Guy" Christie here: http://www.redwormcomposting.com/VB96.
These bins are easy and inexpensive to build for a regular home handyperson, and give home worm farming and castings production a serious level-up. I really like this system and have run VermBins for several years. Seeing an actual build is something I (as a barely competent hammer-swinger) wish I had for my first builds, so I offer this in service to others as they get their sawdust on.
Big thanks to Bentley for this resource and for everything else he does for the vermicomposting community!
