36-week softball performance system built around sprinting, rotation, power, joints, and longevity. Not bodybuilding, not bro splits.
Day one of fielding practice is officially here.
This is the start of a new series where I stop hiding from the weak point in my game and actually learn how to use a glove.
Most of my videos have been swing-focused because that is the skill I have spent years obsessing over, learning, failing, rebuilding, and coaching. Fielding is the opposite. I did not grow up playing baseball. I was a football player and thrower, and the glove side of softball has always been the part of my game I could avoid by catching, hitting, and being useful somewhere else.
That ends now.
I hired Zach to coach me through the fielding process from ground zero. We start on the knees, work picks, short hops, forehands, backhands, glove presentation, funneling to the chest, glove taps, right-left footwork, active feet, working through the ball, staying on the balls of the feet, and learning how to stop stabbing at everything like a panicked animal.
The biggest lesson from day one: athleticism does not automatically mean skill. You still have to earn the reps. But once you get a few simple focuses — glove out front, eyes to the glove, chest over knees, active feet, and work from the ground up — the game immediately starts to slow down.
This offseason is about becoming more valuable, not just being a hitter. If I want to take the next jump, I need more tools. This is ground zero.

Work on the thing you suck at. Skill is a skill tree, and you do not get better at the parts of the game you keep avoiding.
