What a concretized town Champawat has become! A dense cover of Cedrus deodara and pine trees spread all around the Champawat valley. There have been several cases of illegal chopping of pine trees but now the situation is under control. Champawat is a fairly medium-sized town in Uttarakhand. It's a clean place and a pilgrimage site of Hindu for worshipping Lord Shiva in the old temple called Baleshwar. The valley looks green and the weather looks soothing due to the post-monsoonal season. Baleshwar Temple complex is believed to be a 10th-century temple complex. Mainly dedicated to Lord Shiva, this complex is having two other temples, one dedicated to 'Ratneshwar' and other to 'Champawati Durga'.
