Episode 37 of The Closing Table is here, and this week we had a special guest at the table: Doug’s son, Winslow, joined Doug and Ben as a cohost for the episode. One week after Doug celebrated NC State beating Louisville, the Wolfpack turned around and got humbled by Wake Forest. State fell 38-14 after the game was tied at halftime, while Louisville bounced back in a big way with a 44-20 win over Florida State. The Panthers were on a bye, so Doug and Ben take a four-game checkpoint before Carolina heads to Philadelphia. Then it is time for the regular rates and oil check-in, with mortgage rates continuing to push higher and oil still adding pressure to the affordability conversation. We also ask a question a lot of people seem to be living right now: everyone says they feel broke, so why are we still spending? Plus, have we become a full-on couch economy, do we actually want everything personalized to us, and what is that burning smell the first time you turn the heat on? Counteroffer becomes a Halloween Candy Draft, and Getting Local heads back to the coast for the 45th North Carolina Oyster Festival in Ocean Isle Beach. We close with one more question for adulthood: how much notice do you need before making plans?
