Trailside S02E01 Finest Hike in the World New Zealands Milford Track

Intro to Season 2, Episode 1 of Trailside: Make Your Own Adventure, the longest running outdoor "how-to" adventure series on Public Television. 201 Finest Hike in the World: New Zealand's Milford Track Trailside takes viewers to New Zealand's Milford Track, a sublime 33-mile trail known as "the finest walk in the world." The Track twists through a spectacular mountain valley, zigzags up an alpine pass, drops into a moss-tangled rainforest, and ends at a waterfall-draped fiord on the Tasman Sea. To prepare for possible downpours, we'll show all about dressing for foul weather, choosing waterproof hiking boots, and keeping gear dry in the pack. We'll also cover trekking poles (adjustable ski poles made for hiking) and how to keep blisters from ruining the hike of a lifetime.
