Fee gone Birmingham kept Iwata for ONE more season

This video looks at Birmingham City's Tomoki Iwata, who has drawn interest from AEK Athens according to the Greek outlet NovaSports, a little over a week after Chris Davies said the midfielder is likely to return to Japan when his contract ends this season. The analysis weighs the summer decision to keep him rather than sell, which swapped a potential fee for one more season of a player who has started all eleven Championship games. On current form that call holds up, but it only pays off if the season ends in promotion. Davies left the door slightly open to Iwata changing his mind, though nothing reported so far suggests he has. With one hundred and seven appearances and two positions to cover, the timing of the search for his successor matters as much as any January approach from Greece, and the case for starting it in January is the video's own view rather than anything reported. Birmingham City sit fourth, three points behind leaders Swansea City, with one defeat all season. Independent analysis, not affiliated with Birmingham City. #BirminghamCity #BCFC #BluesNews
