For the second half of October, we’re introducing Yoi no Mahō (Magic at Dusk), a Japanese sweet inspired by Halloween. 🎃 The soft gyuhi rice cake is colored black with bamboo charcoal, and a pumpkin ghost is decorated on the surface using yokan, a traditional sweet bean jelly. Inside is a Western-style pumpkin filling made with fresh cream and milk. Pumpkin seeds are also mixed into the filling, adding a delightful texture to this unique Japanese confection.
