This Time, I Didn't Make Halva for Myself... ❤️ Persian Milk Halva Recipe | Easy Traditional Homemade Halva Today, we're making a traditional Persian milk halva using simple ingredients. This homemade halva is soft, smooth, and wonderfully fragrant, thanks to the delicious combination of milk, flour, sugar, butter, and aromatic cardamom. The best part? It takes only about 30 minutes to prepare! But this time, I didn't make halva for myself... In Gilan, northern Iran, one of the beautiful traditions for remembering loved ones who have passed away is to prepare halva and place it inside traditional Temijan rice bread, or sometimes dates are placed inside this special rice bread. These treats are then shared with people as a charitable offering in memory of the departed.
