Lagos, Portugal September 2026

My wife & I went to Lagos, Portugal for our honeymoon. This is just a quick video of some of the culture we encountered there. Lagos is a very quiet town in Portugal we stayed in the Belmar Spa & Beach Resort, 4 star Resort only 5 minutes uber drive from the town itself. The quickest transport is Uber's we find & the price is actually good for the drive. The food however is very highly priced but being a coastal town thats understandable. Plenty of pubs to choose from but we don't drink so we spent our nights walking & investigating what the town had to offer. There is a fantastic array of street musicians a fantastic cello player, singers & bands pay as you eat its wonderful. The vibe of this town is relaxed without hassle. I have one bad fault about the town every night I was asked if I wanted weed from street dealers, I don't smoke it so not for me. Other than these people Lagos is a 99% beautiful town to visit with very little trouble Police on the street for protection & you can feel the presence too. Plenty of shopping venues for all types of people, very historical town. Something to watch out for is the pavements of the streets they are very slippy in the dry heat & could possibly be very dangerous in the wet we almost fell every day for 7 days at least once. Would I return? Yes but in 20 years time when all I want is a quiet holiday. Belmar Spa Resort 4 Star is very beautiful it has 4 pools, Jacuzzi & Spa treatment, a reasonably priced restaurant for Lunch & Dinners, But we got charged the first morning €50 for breakfast for a bowl of corn flakes 3 toast 2 teas and some fruit for 2 people we found was daylight robbery we didn't have breakfast again there. Other than that its very relaxing the resort has 1 heated pool indoors the rest are not heated. Eating out has a variety of types of restaurants to choose from Like everything you can think of. We didn't find a major fast food joint in the town but I would Recommend a small burger shop off the town circle across from the Portugal Sports shop in the town on our last night we were very surprised the quality of burgers from this fast food joint. There is 2 fantastic restaurants side by side just up the town street called O Cavaleiro & Italia Pizzeria we ate here & both were very professional & authentic. There is a demand more so for food in this small town so you could be in a queue for some time we found 7pm was the best time to get seated quickly maybe a 5 minute wait time.
