News18 takes a closer look at public opinion across India’s most politically significant state through a statewide voter-mood survey.The survey covered all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with investigators visiting both urban and rural areas to speak directly with voters. More than 1,000 investigators went into the field, using a door-to-door approach and simple random sampling to gauge voter opinion.The objective is to understand what people are thinking on the ground, what issues matter to them, and how they view the political choices before them.
