30,000 Cyclists in 21 Hours – a timelapse of the busiest cycleway in the Netherlands

In June 2023, I stayed at a hotel on Vredenburg in the heart of Utrecht, with a balcony overlooking one of the busiest cycleways in the Netherlands. I set up my GoPro for a 21-hour timelapse, capturing the nonstop flow of cyclists, pedestrians, and buses from 3 PM Wednesday to just before midday Thursday. On an average day, over 30,000 people cycle along this route, which has been car-free since the late 1990s. Watch the street come alive with movement in this unique urban timelapse.
