[We covered places like Surkanda Devi Temple which was 8 km from Dhanolti. The Surkanda Devi Temple is a sacred Hindu shrine located near Kaddukhal and Dhanaulti in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India.
Sits at approximately 2,756 meters (9,042 feet) above sea level, one of the revered 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism. Mythology states that Goddess Sati’s head fell at this spot when Lord Shiva carried her body.
Location: Near Dhanaulti (about 8 km away) and Kanatal, easily accessible from Mussoorie or Dehradun.
Returning to Mussoorie, we saw a beautiful sunset in Landour and waited to see the famous winterline phenomenon at Lal Tibba.
On the next day we reached our one last destination which was Dalai Hills.
Dalai Hills is a tranquil, lesser-explored hilltop viewpoint located in Happy Valley, Mussoorie in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Named after the historic connection to the Dalai Lama who stayed in the area, it offers a peaceful escape away from the crowded commercial spots like Mall Road.
Situated about 3 to 5 km from Library Chowk/Bazaar in Mussoorie. The trek begins near the Shedup Choephelling Temple (Tibetan Monastery) in Happy Valley.
A short, manageable walk of about 400 to 500 meters (roughly a 10-to-15-minute uphill climb) from the monastery base.
• Attractions :
• A prominent, golden statue of Lord Buddha.
• Vibrant, multi-colored Tibetan prayer flags lining the pathways and hillsides.
• A white stupa and prayer wheels.
Views: A 360-degree panoramic vista of the surrounding Garhwal Himalayas, rolling green ridges, and the Doon Valley down below.
Elevation: Roughly 6,400 feet (1,970 meters) above sea level, keeping the air cool and refreshing.
Best Time to Visit: Early mornings for sunrise or late afternoons for sunset views and softer lighting. Small local tea stalls (tapris) are available near the base and trail.]
