Sona, a 19 year old girl is bringing her husband, Deepak to court because of his irresponsible behaviour. She accepts that she got married to Deepak in spite of her parents' disapproval. She wants him to understand his responsibilities so that she can lead a peaceful life with him. Kiran Bedi asks if they had a love marriage and they answer in the affirmative. Deepak and Sona say that they got married to each other without their parents' approval or knowledge because they belong to two different castes. Sona says that her mother-in-law does not like her because she belongs to a different caste and didn't bring dowry. Kiran Bedi calls the mother-in-law and questions her. She says that because Sona and Deepak have had a love marriage she will not interfere in their lives. Kiran Bedi tells Deepak to gain Sona's trust within the next 6 months, after which he can think of travelling abroad.
