Shinkula Pass | New gateway of Zanskar Valley | Keylong To Padum Route

Shinkula pass (also known as Shingo La) is a mountain pass in India, on the border between zanskar valley of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. There is a shallow lake or pool 20m below the pass. The pass is on a long-distance footpath linking Zanskar and Lahaul, this was used often by locals and trekkers .There is snow on the pass all year round, although in the summer only a small stretch of snow has to be passed. This is 16580 feet above see level. This is my first ride to shinkula pass its 40 km away from darcha checkpost first 20 km is good and well shape road but after helipad this is completely offroad till padum town of zanskar valley. we started our ride from keylong and reached on shinkula top within 3 hour. there is no network connectivity on this route and this route is maintained by BRO.
