I Survived My First AFM Clubman Race 🏁

AFM Round 5 at Thunderhill Date: 9/26/2026 Class: Clubman Middleweight Bike: 2008 Yamaha R6 Best lap: 2:09.967 Position: 16th to 10th (red flag stoppage on the 4th lap). 3 riders DNF. There was a crash in front of me on the first lap at 2:26. This was only my 3rd day riding the bike after purchasing it in April. I had done 8 track days before this race and my previous best lap was 2:14.18 The riders at the top of novice are fast and it’s going to take a lot of work to reach their level. Luckily, there’s a lot of areas I can work on to quickly drop 4-5 seconds. My goal is sub 2 mins in 2027.
