A song I wrote about two people in love.

The wild rose petals fell and lay before your feet,
As you wandered along the pathway to sit upon our seat.
Your laughter filled the air like a beautiful melody,
I was the luckiest man that there could ever be.
The morning sunlight glinted upon your upturned face,
And the shadows of the night vanished without a trace.
A breath of fresh air, you are the love of my life,
And very soon when autumn comes you will be my wife.
(chorus) The stars twinkled your name,
The breeze whispered to me
Of your never ending love
As it sang among the trees.
We walked through the meadows holding each other's hand,
Down to the shore line where we ran barefoot through the sand.
Chatting gaily about the future and the home we would build,
The children running around, our life would be fulfilled.
As summer slowly ebbs away and the leaves begin to turn,
The day of our wedding approached, your favourite time of year.
We stood under the branches of our favourite tree
And spoke our wedding vows under the spiraling autumn leaves.
(chorus) The stars twinkled your name,
The breeze whispered to me
Of your never ending love
As it sang among the trees.
Our home was full of joy and love blossomed all around,
The children grew up and walked the pathways they had found.
As age crept upon us we wandered to our seat
Where the wild rose petals dropped and fell before your feet.
Your head upon my shoulder, no words were needed to say,
How grateful I am to have you and love you every day..
Now autumn leaves are falling and I stand beneath our tree,
For now I only hear your laughter in the canopy of trees.
(chorus) The stars still twinkle your name,
The breeze still whispers to me,
Of our never ending love,
Still singing of you in the trees.
