207 Stedman Caters, Collegiate Church of St Mary Ashford; Trinity Sunday 2010

The bells of St Mary the Virgin, Ashford, Kent being rung to a touch of 207 Stedman Caters prior to Sung Evensong on 30th May Trinity Sunday 2010. The bells were augmented to 10 by the addition of two trebles in 1970 and are arguably the second finest ring of ten bells in Kent after the fine Taylor Ten of the Collegiate Church of All Saints, Maidstone which all date from the mid 1950's. The oldest bells in the Ashford peal date back to the early 17th century however and have rung out over a town which has seen some of the most sweeping changes over the centuries of any English Town.
