📷 Firmware, wiring diagram & project files: https://www.huyvector.org/smart-devic... In this project, I built a wireless home security camera system using two inexpensive ESP32 boards. The camera unit uses an ESP32-CAM to stream live video over Wi-Fi, while the second ESP32-S3 powers a dedicated viewer with a 2.8-inch display. Instead of checking the camera from my phone every time, I wanted to build a separate monitor that could stay on my desk while I work. The two devices can automatically find each other when connected to the same Wi-Fi network. They can also connect directly through the ESP32’s own Wi-Fi network when needed. The viewer features microSD card storage, video recording, a rechargeable 18650 battery, USB-C charging, and a physical power switch. I built the entire circuit inside a small picture frame and used 1 mm brass wire instead of regular electrical wires to give it a clean handmade look. The ESP32-CAM also received a custom 3D-printed enclosure before being mounted near the front gate of my house. 📷 Features: • ESP32-CAM security camera • ESP32-S3 N16R8 viewer • 2.8-inch display • Live Wi-Fi video streaming • Automatic device discovery • Direct ESP32 Wi-Fi connection • microSD video recording • Supports cards up to 64 GB • Rechargeable 18650 battery • USB-C charging • Physical power switch • Smartphone and computer access • Handmade brass-wire circuit • 3D-printed camera enclosure • Dedicated desktop monitoring display ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📡 ESP32-CAM Setup: Flash the camera firmware to the ESP32-CAM using your computer. After flashing, connect the camera to any USB power source. Then connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network created by the ESP32 and complete the setup. You can also enter your home Wi-Fi details so the camera can connect to your local network. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🖥️ Viewer Setup: The viewer uses an ESP32-S3 N16R8 with a built-in microSD card slot. Flash the viewer firmware before installing the battery and assembling everything inside the frame. Once configured, the camera and viewer will automatically find each other when connected to the same Wi-Fi network. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💾 Video Recording: Insert a microSD card into the viewer to record footage from the camera. The system supports microSD cards up to 64 GB, making it possible to save and review footage later. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏠 How I Use It: I installed the ESP32-CAM near the front gate of my house. The viewer stays in my workspace, so while I’m working in my room, I can quickly check the live feed and see if anyone comes to the house. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎵 Music: “Meditation Impromptu 03” by Kevin MacLeod Licensed under Creative Commons: Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...
