Europe 2026 Rome

The first of a series of videos ( video slideshows really ) detailing a 3 month trip through Northern Italy, parts of France & then Malaysia. From May 21 - Aug 16, 2026. This video is of a very rushed one and a half days in Rome. We arrived there a day late after our very first flight out of Launceston was cancelled ( resulting in us spending the first night on benches in the check-in area of the Airport and missing all scheduled connections to Rome ). Our original itinerary was Launceston - Melbourne - Dubai - Rome. Instead we did Launceston - Melbourne - Perth - Rome. It was all part of a great adventure. A wonderful 3 months travelling. Rome is a city that deserves at least a week to enjoy but you could easily spend a month there exploring the incredible churches, architecture, ancient ruins, great food and fabulous neighbourhoods. We only had a day and a half there after 52 hours of travel. We hardly did it justice but this video captures what two old zombies could manage in that short period of time. After Rome, we spent an incredible month travelling by train to Bologna, Modena, Mantua, Verona, Brescia, Bergamo, Milan, Genoa & Turin before heading to France. This series of videos will highlight the beautiful streetscapes and neighbourhoods in each of those cities.
