A PCCB Network virtual session hosted by the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI), in collaboration with the Institute of Sustainability and Carbon Footprint (ISCF) Many countries and organizations still face gaps in technical capacity for high-quality GHG measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV), from inconsistent application of international methodologies to a shortage of practitioners with verified competencies. These gaps affect the credibility of emissions data that underpin climate finance access and NDC/NAP implementation. Join GHGMI and ISCF for an interactive session exploring GHG MRV capacity-building from two complementary angles: building core accounting competencies and professional pathways, and applying independent verification and assurance to strengthen the credibility of GHG and sustainability disclosures. What to expect: A short expert presentation on core capacity needs and common challenges in GHG MRV A presentation on real-world success stories in verification and sustainability practice A moderated panel discussion with practitioner perspectives from both organizations Extended, facilitated Q&A and peer exchange Speakers: Michael Gillenwater, Executive Director and Dean, GHGMI Molly White, Director of Education, GHGMI Mostafa Sherbiny, Lead Verifier & CEO, Institute of Sustainability and Carbon Footprint (ISCF) Who should watch: Early- to mid-career GHG/MRV professionals, government agency representatives working on NDC/NAP planning and implementation, sustainability auditors and verifiers, and practitioners in developing-country contexts seeking to build or benchmark their technical capacity. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the competencies and standards required for high-quality GHG MRV, insight into the role of independent verification and assurance, and pathways for continued engagement, including the new EP®(GHG) professional certification.
