Alex Woodroe & The Living Dead: Editor and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Buff

Award-winning writer and editor Alex Woodroe joins Sebastian from Transylvania to discuss what kicked off her interest in fitness five years ago, and how that led to studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She recounts the Romanian folklore that inspired Bram Stoker when he was writing Dracula and reveals the complicated relationship the country has with the omnipresent vampire. She shares about her new novella Tatratea, dives into what she looks for as Editor-in-Chief of Tenebrous Press, which specializes in “new, weird horror,” and details what the slush pile tells her about the collective anxieties bubbling under our society. Plus, she recommends her favorite unsung horror movie for your spooky season viewing; and Sebastian and Austen discuss the mystery lights of Marfa, Texas. #transylvania #dracula #horrorwriter #romania
